Doug Springford

Before earning a Masters of Business Administration degree from the University of Washington, and while working on his Bachelor of Arts in Economics, Doug was a firefighter. He went on to earn his Bachelor of Laws degree from Queens University in Kingston, Ontario. Doug articled at the firm now known as Alexander, Holburn, Beaudin + Lang LLP in Vancouver but opted for the quieter country life in Merritt, British Columbia after being called to the bar in 1985.

He moved his family to a small ranch in the rolling foothills of Kamloops in 1990 where Doug has been practicing law ever since, but still lectures in Merritt at the Nicola Valley Institute of Technology in the areas of business law and economics. In the spirit of a family business, Doug’s lovely wife, Colleen, is the firm’s business administrator and keeps the lights on in many different respects.

When not at the office, Doug volunteers as a director for Oncore Seniors Society, plays baseball internationally, has four grown children and is Grampa to three grandchildren. Doug is a four-time Hobbs World Series Baseball champion.
